The brand new Mahindra Thar was revealed on August 15 and the price  is expected to be announced on October 2 which is the birthday of Mahathma Gandhi. Just after the SUV was announced  it went viral all over the internet and car lover's timeline's and status bar's were overwhelmed with the pictures and videos of the SUV. The Thar SUV will be available in two variants AX and LX. The lower specification variant AX will target the car enthusiasts while upper variant LX will target people looking for lifestyle aspects.

                      

The brand new Thar is equipped with a 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine with 152 hp power ans 2.2 ltr turbo diesel engine with 132 hp power. While 4*4, manual shift with transfer case and a low-ratio box is standard,both engines will be offered with 6 speed manual and automatic transmission options.Both variants- Thar AX and Thar LX offer some similar features and equipment, But there are some differences. Being comfort oriented The LX will offer additional comfort,safety and driver aid features. LX will have automatic climate control, cruise control, power adjustable ORVM's, roof-mounted speakers, steering mounted controls, colour MID in the driver instrument cluster and a 7.0 inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple Car-Play, navigation and USB connectivity.

The official price announcement of the SUV is expected on October 2 and it will be some where around 15 lakhs .
